HOMEBUYER SURVEY AND VALUATIONS
The Homebuyer Survey is specifically designed as an economy service, and is intended for particular types of homes only - houses, flats or bungalows built within the last 150 years, which are of conventional construction and in reasonable condition.
It focuses on the 'essentials' - defects and problems that are urgent or significant, and which therefore have an effect on the value of the property, although other valuable information is also included. Unlike a Building Survey, the Homebuyer Survey also provides a valuation and Reinstatement Cost Assessment as an integral part of the service.
BUILDING SURVEY
Building Surveys are suitable for all residential properties and provide a complete picture of their construction and condition. A Building Survey is likely to be necessary if the property is of unusual construction, is dilapidated or has been extensively altered, or if a major conversion or renovation is planned. The survey report will include extensive technical information on construction and materials as well as details of any defects, whether major or minor.
