While we are experiencing an unexpectedly high volume of lettings enquiries and property lets during these unusual and challenging times, we thought you would like to know how here at Andrew Granger & Co we are currently managing this.
We continue to have a skeleton staff working at our office on an appointment only basis and the remainder of our team are working from home where it is business as usual for all of us. Our contractors are all working hard following necessary guidelines to ensure that urgent jobs are dealt with along with any routine jobs where possible. We are doing our best to ensure that all government certification is carried out at the appropriate time whilst respecting some of our tenant’s caution at this time.
We have been letting properties without viewings via our virtual tours, something new which we have been able to organise during lockdown. We have recently been able to carry out accompanied viewings on empty properties again which has made the process easier.
Our processes for the administration of the letting of our properties is now almost totally remote because of investing in an electronic signing system via Docusign. This ensures that we reduce the risk of infection for our staff who are in the front line. Our offices are Covid-19 compliant and we have screens fitted to the desks and floor markings which indicate the distancing for any visitors who wish to come into the offices. We have found that with skype, Microsoft teams and the good old-fashioned telephone that it has become a rarity for anybody to visit our offices unless they are collecting keys for their new home.
It has been a tough time for so many businesses throughout the country but with the various government initiatives such as the furlough scheme and increased tenant benefits, we have seen very few rent arrears and we have been working hard in assisting our tenants with information on how they can find financial assistance during this difficult time.
We continue to look at opportunities to improve our service and ensure that we research any innovations that allow us to continue to provide the best lettings service possible in our current ever-changing environment.
