Harborough Grow-on Centre’s first tenants positive sign for local economy

Wed 2 September 2020

The first tenants have been welcomed into the Harborough Grow-on Centre, and discussions are underway for more companies to join them over the coming weeks.

Krypton IT Solutions have moved into the new Harborough District Council-owned office space in Market Harborough, which boasts flexible office suites ranging in size from around 500 to 2,100 square feet.

Several other companies are actively discussing accommodation options and lease terms with the Council, a strong indication that Harborough district’s robust economy is showing really positive signs of regrowth after the challenges of Covid-19.

Harborough Grow-on Centre (HGC) is a brand-new energy-efficient, a high specification office building designed for dynamic and growing small and medium-sized businesses, located in an expanding commercial area.

Darren Shaw, sales director at Krypton IT Solutions, said: “We’re very excited to be opening a new branch in Market Harborough at the newly opened Grow-on Centre due to our continued growth. It is great to be the first company in the building.”

Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Krypton IT Solutions as first tenants in the Harborough Grow-on Centre. This move, together with the success of businesses and town centres reopening across the district, is a huge step forward in the recovery of our district.”

LLEP Chair Kevin Harris said: “It’s great to see the first tenants in the Grow-on Space, as this is a brilliant project set to accomodate many more businesses in the future. The site has capacity to accommodate around 230 new jobs, and will bring in £20 million to the local economy over the next five years. We’re very proud to have made such a major contribution to Harborough Grow-On Space, and look forward to seeing more business move in and make use of these great facilities.”

Kevin Skipworth, head of commercial property for Andrew Granger & Co, sole letting agent for HGC, adds: “It’s very clear to see why the Harborough Grow-on Centre has received so much interest and it’s fantastic to see the first tenant move into the building given the challenges faced this year. We look forward to helping more tenants find the right office space for them in this ideal facility.”

The HGC is situated just on the south side of Market Harborough town, opposite the leisure centre and swimming pool where tenants can benefit from a corporate discount.

There is also a range of original artwork from Harborough Artists Cluster on display and available to purchase, accessible showers, electric parking points and high tech glazing which reduces heat loss and solar gain, plus views over green spaces, the rural office space is a strikingly attractive venue.

The convenience of the location provides commuters with excellent access to major road and rail links, with the A6, M1 and A14 nearby. Frequent, direct trains to London St Pancras International take just under an hour from Market Harborough Station. Being within easy distance of East Midlands, Luton and Birmingham airports.

The centre provides first-class space for the modern, dynamic businesses looking for an attractive setting with cosmopolitan reach.
