Following a recent survey of over 5,000 buy-to-let investors, we were very interested to read that research has found that 73%* of those asked, considered the rental sector to be the best, least volatile long-term investment.
Given that the buy-to-let investors surveyed by Benham and Reeves were asked about everything from the confidence in the market, the impact of Brexit, and other government changes to the industry amongst other things, it’s very encouraging that there is still huge confidence in this type of investment.
Jill Griffiths, Head of Lettings for Andrew Granger & Co Ltd, says: “Despite all the challenges that the property market has faced over the past two – three years, buy-to-let is still proving to be the preferred choice for long term investment.
“When looking at the alternative and more traditional forms of investment, property is still proving to be a good, solid choice. When the asset growth is factored into the return, the annual yields for local properties are currently relatively high.
“We are currently seeing increased interest from retired individuals who are looking to use their pension savings for reasonable returns, and property investment is becoming more popular amongst this sector.”
